Chapter Nine

Samantha looked rather amazing, if she thought so herself. Which was mostly owed to the professional makeup artists and the incredibly sexy yet refined red dress she had on, which was asymmetrical. It was multi-layered and flowing, yet somehow managed to accentuate her athletic feminine curves while leaving plenty to the imagination. It shifted and swirled as she walked in a tantalizing fashion. It rode the line between formal and semi-formal, to the point it would have an expert scratching their head as to how to rate it.

She was in New York, at a theatre that specialized in musicals. They’d be doing the photo shoot there, and she’d also get to watch the actual musical later that night, which a small portion of the classical music score would be the background music of the commercial. As she’d expected, it was all very tasteful and sophisticated, without coming off as trying too hard.

The best part of course, was she had hundreds of thousands worth of diamond jewelry around her neck, wrists, and hanging from her ears. She didn’t get to keep any of it of course, but it was still nice, and she had no fear she’d be robbed given her powerset.

Her partner in the shoot was Hanson Graves, a male model she’d never heard of, but that was no surprise as she hardly followed the industry. The important part was he looked amazing in a tux, and she imagined he’d look amazing in just about anything, the man was a perfect specimen.

Rebecca said as she walked in, “Thanks for inviting me, I’ve already made several contacts that will really help my alien designer tech business.”

Rich people with a lot of money to burn for the latest cool thing, she imagined.

She snickered, “Inviting you?”

Rebecca grinned, “You know, saying yes when I asked to come.”

She laughed, “No problem. It’s good having a friend here to keep me company through the process, though everyone’s been really nice and professional so far.”

She was no actress, but it helped there were no lines, it was all about onscreen chemistry and body language, and she’d long perfected the art of getting across coy and sexy with body language, and she could adapt if she had to.

In short, they just needed to look like a couple in love and engrossed in each other for the moment, and also get across that the man had showered her with diamonds. The rest of the commercial would be the emotionally driven classical music and whatever the voice over person had to say near the end.

She was a bit nervous, but an excited nervous.

The next few hours were brutal and wore down her excitement quite a bit.

The male model was clearly intimidated and afraid of her, and she thought he likely shared similar views to the paranoid anti-empowered crowd. Which really made it hard for her to act besotted with the man, but she managed with effort. What was tiring was he wasn’t able to act attracted to her, at all.
